Healing Spot Tool

This is the original image for the birds and I have to use the healing tool

I had to use the healing tool and I had to edit the birds out of the image itself and I also I took out the wire to make more easier to use the heal tool.

This is the original image of the brick wall, with all the cracks and broken bricks.

This is the image I had to edit and I had to use the healing tool and I patched up all cracks and broken bricks, also tried too make it look a little better.

Photoshop - Alan Sugar

Lasso = L key - I used tool to cut around hes head.
Quickmask = Q key - I used this to refine/change the selection.
Modify the edge of selection  = Select/Modify/Expand - I used this to make the edge not so rough so it dont look cut out.
Turn the selection into a layer= cmd/ctrl J - opens more layers easier
Move the Layer to another Photo= Move tool =V key drag to another photo - I used this so i could put the head onto the image of the sugar
Scale the layer= cmd/ctrl T - i used this to change the size of the image
Copy the Layer= cmd/ctrl J -  i used this so i could duplicate the layer (the head)

Fashion Photography

When is an image a Portrait when is it a fashion photograph?

It is when you turn the camera to its side and you get a main focus on someone's face capturing there personality's or emotion.

When you take a full photo of someone who's wearing fashionable or clothing and you take a picture of what the person is wearing, instead of getting a more focus on the emotion on the face.

To what degree should an image manipulated to go into a fashion magazine?

There was a bit too much Photoshop, they changed the way the model looked, the moved her head up and moved the hair and eye brows. The make up and other things are okay to do but don't change too much or make it too sharp.

This image is wrong because they have completely changed the way this women looks and they shouldn't have done this as it can affect someone as they could think they are unattractive or something, they have made her face smaller, moved her eyes and changed her teeth and airbrushed her.

Is there a clash between the Creative and Commercial side fashion Photography?

The clash is between Anna Wintour (Commercial) and Grace Coddington (Creative).
Commercial win the argument and I agree with commercial because someone of the pictures that grace chose were really good but Anna took them out because she didn't like them.

Portraiture

Portraiture

 Diane Arbus (Matthaei family portraits)

Diane Arbus she would spend time with people to get enough images of the people who she wanted to take pictures.
She would catch moods in the country, she would follow loads of different things if she liked.

She used to do fashion with her husband Allen Arbus and it was her husband who got her into Photography, they both worked on fashion photography together but Diane later on went to do her own thing.

Diane used the camera to strip away at what people didn't want too see, as it showed a different side that other people may not have known about these people who are having their picture taken.
She charmed her subjects and made them think that she was the only one who was interested in them.

Nowadays we use portraits for identification or we have them on money to see who head of power, eg: the queen.

Eddie Adam's

Eddie Adams took a image of a man/prisoner getting shot in the head and it looks very horrible.

The picture and the film of the prisoner, there is a difference between both of them, the still picture you can look at it for ages and you maybe could does the officer shoot or does he leave the prisoner and put him the prison?.
The film you just see that the officer shoots him and then walks away from the body that is laying on the floor, with blood running down the street and other officers walk passed and ignore the body that bloody is pouring out.
